Corporate Accounting

A corporate accountant is responsible for the financial records, including the general ledger maintenance, of a corporation. He prepares and analyzes journal entries, reconciles accounts, reviews financial statements and prepares reports for management on a regular basis. He interprets records and reports for management.

Responsibilities include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, development of computer systems and oversight of the functioning of those systems. Balance sheet preparation, budget preparation, profit and loss statement preparation, and financial statement consolidation are also responsibilities.  He may act as a liaison with financial entities and/or planners.

A corporate accountant usually has at least a Bachelor’s Degree and is a CPA.
